About the Society in brief

History

The professional roadmen society was found in 1934 under the title “Road Society“. After the World War II the society was incorporated into the Czechoslovak Scientific and Technical Societies Association (ČSVTS). The Road Society legal subjectivity was restored by the memorandum approved in 1990. In relation to the new society title, i. e. The Czech Road Society (ČSS), the memorandum was adapted in 1999. In 2015, regarding the new Civil Act validity, the society has accepted the new official title “The Czech Road Society, r. c.“.

Mission

The Czech Road Society, r. c. is a voluntary, professional and independent corporation of engineers, technicians, students, workmen and other road specialists on territories of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. Before all, their mission in the field of roads is to create room for discussions as well as application and implementation of scientific knowledge in practice and up-to-date trends at inland and abroad pursuing.

International Cooperation

The Society effectuates collaboration on an international level with foreign proffesional societies, before all with Slovakia and neighbouring European countries. The Society ranks to many years standing World Road Association PIARC members.

Establishment

Congress is the top element of the Society establishment. In time periods between congresses activities are governed by the Society Committee and its presidium. The President of the Czech Road Society, r. c. forms the Committee´s head and the Society´s secretary conducts the Society´s secretariate.

The presidium inconporates the president, two vicepresidents, the secretary for science, secretary and six presidium members.
